I see us as a global asset manager. What we do is scalable. What people like Gary Black and Dave Kalis bring to the table is unique. And I'm just excited to bring our investment strategies to the investment community.
So we're here today with Jeff Ulness, the head of Global Distribution at The Future Fund. And Jeff, it's great to have you here. You allowed me to convince you to join us when we started the Epoch Investment Partners and you had a fantastic 20 year career there. You're now retired and you've allowed me once again to pull you back and get out of retirement. Come join us at The Future Fund. So maybe we start, what did you see that prompted you to want to be part of this exciting adventure we’re all on.
Well, the famous line is I try to get out and you pull me back in and it comes down to I'll never bid against you.
And it's interesting because the strategy is one thing, the packaging is another. I spent a lot of time educating myself and I see just a green field ahead of us in active management. There's very few active managers in this space right now. If you look at Gary Black's history, I mean, he's done everything in the business. He's ran major firms. So the opportunity to get in the ground floor with an investment icon was very attractive.
So I saw this unique opportunity to build something from the ground floor up, and I've got the opportunity to be part of it. So I'm really looking forward to that.
I got to pick my title. So I picked the highfalutin title, global Head of Distribution.
Well, I told you Jeff, titles are cheap, so you could have whatever title you want. So that's a pretty decent one, I must say.
But I don't plan on stopping with just the US distribution, I see us as a global asset manager. What we do is scalable. What people like Gary Black and Dave Kalis bring to the table is unique. And I'm just excited to bring our investment strategies to the investment community.
